Strategic Planning Update

Strategic Planning Update

God never moves in ways we expect.  We see that all throughout Scripture.  As a Strategic Planning Team, we have witnessed things beyond our imagination or expectations, as God often does when we truly get out of His way.

Over the past ten months our team has been tasked with discerning His voice on a weekly basis, something both exciting and burdensome.  Exciting for obvious reasons, but burdensome because we honestly desire to get busy implementing His plan or at least giving everybody a clear glimpse into what He is doing and where CPCC is headed.  But again, the Spirit moves in unexpected ways and at unexpected paces.  While we don’t have a full picture to unveil to you at this time, it is clear that He is pointing us toward several key focuses for the near future.  These areas are prayer, local and global outreach, and intentional life-to-life discipleship. Here’s what we believe this means...

Prayer

God has called us to be a house of prayer, to focus our thoughts and efforts on what He is doing in our lives, church and community...in other words, to gain His heart.  We believe God wants to see prayer become a central focus of our worship, both corporate and individual over the next year.

Local/Global Outreach

As we truly seek to lead ALL people to Jesus, we feel God wants us to work more intentionally as a church to raise awareness of issues locally and globally, seeking to sacrifice time, energy, resources and volunteers to make the name of Christ famous to all, and to draw more into His redemptive story.

Intentional Discipleship

While there are many programs and forms of discipleship, we believe God is leading us to be intentional by equipping leaders to invest in a small group of people who will in turn be equipped to invest in a small group of people. This is the multiplication strategy that we see Jesus using in Scripture.  He had many disciples, but invested strategically in 12 and then intimately in 3. Whether this is through mentoring, Bible study, small groups, family development, counseling or other facets, we believe God desires to focus our efforts on equipping everyone to make a significant impact on a few people within their circle of influence.

As we gain clarity around these strategic points of focus, we are beginning the process of engaging ministry teams to begin defining structures and strategies to carry out these points of emphasis.

We are still diligently seeking His direction in all areas of ministry at CPCC and covet your prayers.  But it is clear that God is leading and prompting us to start with these three areas.  God is good, and we are excited to be in this place at this time.  He continues to be faithful and we want to invite each of you to be praying alongside us in this process.
