HighGear/OverDrive November Project
In the month of November, our elementary kids were challenged to bring in quarters to pay for packaged meals for kids all around the world. This was to support Kids Against Hunger and these meals provide so much nourishment for the children that doctors would actually prefer these meals over medicine for the kids. Each meal consists of soy, rice, a chicken stock base, and vitamins. Each meal cost one quarter. Our kids brought in $458.70 which paid for 1,835 meals. On November 23rd, our kids were actually able to package the meals and prepare to send them to Haiti. It was a wonderful experience for our kids and they did an awesome job of forming an assembly line and getting 9,180 meals prepared to be shipped around the world. We are extremely proud of our kids as they are making a difference in our world. Check out this video of what it looked like in OverDrive on November 23rd.
Grand Opening of HighGear 456
Sunday, December 7th will be our first Sunday in our new HighGear worship space for our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. This room is located on the second floor so the upper elementary kids will only be on the second floor for both OverDrive and HighGear. Parents will still use the same check in process that was put in place in the Fall. We are extremely excited as our kids will have so much more room and a cool looking space for them to spend time with their small groups and learn more about putting Christ in the center of their life! The month of December’s virtue is Generosity and we will celebrate how God has been so generous with us by giving His Son. We will learn how to live a generous life that brings glory to God.
